chicken soup with orecchiette, cannelloni beans, and broccoli rabe

My brother David and his girlfriend Rachel arrived here late tonight after flight delays due to the rains. Since comfort food is always good after travel, Jude had a hearty chicken soup ready for us all to have.

I think I have mentioned before that when Jude makes soups like this, he plates each bowl individually so that: a) nothing gets soggy in the broth, and b) he can evenly distribute how much of each soup component gets in each serving.

The broth was made with chicken stock, chicken, ham hocks, onions, garlic, and some beer. He made orecchiette pasta, soaked cannelloni beans, and added broccoli rabe. Garnished with toasted bread crumbs and fresh parsley.
